On Tuesday September 4th students gathered at the Dance Studio to learn how to Hula dance led by Rachel Vinciguerra. Vinciguerra traveled to Hawaii this past July and brought back a modern hula dance called āKeep your Eyes on the Hands.ā Vinciguerra mentioned that the lyrics were a little raunchy, but it was all in good fun.
Rachel Vincinguerra leads a group of students learning to hula. Emily Hostetler (Front Left) enthusiastically joins in as the students learn a new move
Students learned a few different moves; one move that was incorporated throughout the dance was the Ami, where students placed their arms in a U shape, and then onto their hips.
When learning to Hula, it is important to remember to keep your hands on your hips
